About this place
Emerald Beach lies at the northern end of Ocean Expo Park in Motobu, the same park that holds Churaumi Aquarium. It is a white coral-sand beach set inside a reef lagoon, divided into three sections, with lockers and free showers at the beach house.
Ocean Expo Park has nine free car parks with about 1,900 spaces between them, but the park is long and the beach sits at its northern end. The mapcode takes you to the beach end directly, so you can pick the closest lot from there. Swimming is open from April to October.

How to enter this in your car navigation
- On the navigation home screen, choose Destination (目的地).
- Choose Mapcode (マップコード) from the search methods.
- Type the digits, then the asterisk and the last two digits.
- Confirm the map preview shows the right area before you set the route.
Most Japanese rental cars (Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Times, Orix) accept mapcodes. Some older units ignore the *nn suffix. That is fine, because it only refines the pin.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the mapcode for Emerald Beach?
- The mapcode is 553 105 376*04, pointing at a spot in 沖縄県. Written as decimal degrees the same point is 26.699147, 127.877629. A navigation unit takes the mapcode in far fewer keystrokes than the coordinates, so enter the code.
- What is a mapcode?
- A mapcode is a short numeric code that identifies a spot in Japan, developed by Denso. Japanese car navigation systems accept it directly, which avoids typing a Japanese address on a Japanese keyboard.
- How do I enter a mapcode in a Japanese rental car?
- On the navigation unit choose Destination (目的地), then Mapcode (マップコード), then type the digits. The two digits after the asterisk are an optional precision suffix; older units simply ignore them.
- What do the digits after the asterisk mean?
- They are a high-resolution suffix that narrows the point to roughly a few metres. Without them the code still resolves, just to a slightly wider area.
