About this place
American Village is a seaside shopping and entertainment district in Mihama, Chatan Town, built on land returned from US military use. The painted storefronts make it the most recognisable spot on Okinawa’s central west coast.
Parking is spread across several multi-storey decks, some free and some free for the first two hours only (up to ¥400 a day), but they fill on weekend evenings and at sunset, when people come for the west-facing beach. Chatan is about half an hour north of Naha along Route 58.
